Let me introduce ourselves...
I'm Sharon Petersen and I started Barnyard
Quilting in 1997. We are located in West Fairlee, VT, a small rural community
in the beautiful upper Connecticut River valley, nestled between the Green
Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I live
with my husband, Andy, and between us we share six children and five grandchildren.
Besides being an enthusiastic quilter, I am an avid hiker. Andy and I
have completed the Appalachian Trail. Along the way
I admired nature's beautiful designs, many of which I have incorporated
into my quilting patterns. ** (I have hiked the Appalachian
Trail again this year. You may follow my 2007 adventure by visiting: www.trailjournals.com Look
me up by using my "trail name" shiver.) **
In the summer of 2003 our daughter, Amy Dexter, also of West Fairlee, joined the company. She brings with her many years of sewing experience and her wonderful creativity. She is a welcome addition and asset to the business. . Her presence allows us to keep up with the ever increasing demand for machine quilting services.
Our approach to quilting is quite simple. We believe each and every quilt top, no matter how simple of complex, deserves to be quilted. We think our custom freehand designs, such as feathers, flowers, leaves, hearts and stars, will enhance your quilt top. Let us help you complete your unfinished projects, whether newly sewed or stored in the closet, and transform them into tomorrow's treasures.
And behind the scenes is Andy, handling maintenance, accounting, shipping, receiving, advertising, etc. Don't be surprised if a male voice answers the phone.
We hope you will be interested in trying our machine quilting services. Please contact us for more information. The studio is open by appointment and we are happy to meet with you to discuss your quilting needs. We look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Sharon
